The Congress will be a joint event with the theme “Grand Challenges for Biotechnology: Health; Food Security; and Global Warming”. It will include the 19th International Biotechnology Symposium (IBS2024), the 19th European Congress on Biotechnology (ECB2024) and the Annual Dutch Biotechnology Meeting (NBC-24), as well as other highlight events. 

Combining three major biotechnology events in this way has attracted leading experts from across the World to present Plenary Lectures and Keynote presentations in 30 symposia. 

One of the highlight events will promote the ERC funding opportunities.

13.00 – 14.00 CEST | European Research Council (ERC) – Funding opportunities

The mission of the European Research Council (ERC) is to encourage the highest quality research in Europe through competitive funding and to support investigator-driven frontier research across all fields, on the basis of scientific excellence. This session will highlight the ERC funding scheme by providing an overview of the ERC funding opportunities (both for young and established researchers) and its requirements, as well as by providing an overview of research funded by the ERC in the field of biotechnology.
